Gliders

Finally, after more than 2 years of planning, I got to fly a glider at the Kitty Hawk Kites in Nags Head, the Outer Banks. I took a beginner dunes lesson - an hour of ground instructions followed by 5 flights (instructor-supported) on a little Eaglet glider. The longest flight was probably 15 seconds and I flew no more than 100 yards at an altitude of 5-7 feet. It doesn't sound like much, but it was absolutely amazing! I'm ready to go for more lessons and maybe even a high-altitude tandem flight.
